is an intimate and intentional art class for adults focusing on perspective, imagination and easy how-to exercises, that will ultimately make you a better creative.

Xavier believes that everyone is A Creative in their own right and that art is much more of an exploration than it is a hobby or talent.

Come join Xavier on this playful journey to finding treasures that we all possess!

Your ticket Includes: 90 min Course

Materials needed is a personal notebook for notes(no worries if you don’t have one) and a pen or pencil.

The Itenrary is Below

Hello, Are we All Artist?”

. (10min) Introduction & Engagement -

Xavier will ask the class a few opening questions as well as ideas to engage the topic at hand. Along with a light exercise to warm up our creative skills.

PERSPECTIVE

. (15-20min) This will be a small lecture from Xavier about why we are taking an art class, the differences in perspective, and benefits of the arts. He will relate how they all coincide. Then introduce the next exercise ‘Intentional practice.’

Intentional Practice

. (30min) The Fun part! Students/Class will be given a subject matter (Example: a face, figure or idea) to paint or draw. This will be the individual practice that will be continued for a 2nd and 3rd class. The point of this exercise is to both learn and explore simultaneously.

The Assessment

.(15-20min) Xavier will breakdown the purpose of the exercise and walk through creative blocks. Take a few minutes to write down thoughts and insights.

Reflection

. (10min) The class will now be open up for questions, concerns and takeaways.

The event, When Our Sun Rises: A diverse exhibition of nationally acclaimed artists and leaders. All artwork at the exhibit will be focused on Black, Brown, Queer, and individuals with disabilities and their outdoor-centric artwork.

The show will be hosted on Sept 10 from 5-10 PM at the Distribution Hall. There will be a lot of promotions leading up to the event on social media through places like @stufftodoinaustin, @visitaustintx, @whenwherewhataustin, and many more accounts. Additionally, we're working on sponsorships with Titos, The Little Gay Shop, and Future Front of Texas.

on Friday, August 5th from 5pm - 7pm for a special evening of celebration, honoring the life & legacy of Draylen Mason, the young talent musician, whose life was tragically cut short in the 2018 Austin Bombings. We will be hosting this reception alongside our friends from Austin Soundwaves, and KMFA to ensure that we put on a beautiful celebration of Arts, Culture & Connection. Currently, our registration numbers suggest that we are expecting 75-100 attendees.

ABOUT THE ART EXHIBITION:

Prauper Studios in collaboration with ArtHouston Magazine, Houston Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and The Nash, presents Houston Forever, a collaborative art exhibition, featuring over 30 local and globally recognized visual artists and organizations. The new exhibit dates will run from February 11, 2022 through April 10, 2022 at what was formerly a part of the Texaco Office Building, originally built in 1915. Houston Forever will include works that exemplify Houston culture through the works of the featured artists and the history of the selected organizations. In addition, Prauper Studios will be collaborating with New York based creative powerhouse, Street Dreams Magazine on a premier art installation and periodic programming throughout the duration of the exhibition.

The Exhibition takes advantage of 18,000 sqft of space that was a part of the original Texaco Building. Each artist and organization presented had the opportunity to develop their own displays and respective programs with Prauper Studios.
